Last updated 27 September 2026. This notice explains how we use information that you send through this website. We provide further privacy information about ongoing childcare records when a child takes up a place.

What we collect and why

When you enquire or book a visit, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, contact details, message and preferred sessions. We use it to reply, arrange a visit and discuss availability. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you choose to send.

If you use a registration form, it may also ask for your child's name and date of birth, parent or carer details and a preferred booking pattern. We use that information to consider and arrange a childcare place. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a childcare agreement. If your child takes up a place, relevant information becomes part of their childcare record and different retention duties may apply.

If you apply for a job through the linked application form, we use the details you provide to assess your application and contact you about recruitment. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into an employment contract. We may also need to meet legal duties during recruitment. Please use the job form for application details rather than a general enquiry.

We do not add you to marketing messages because you made an enquiry. Please avoid including medical, safeguarding or other sensitive details in a general website message; speak to the team so we can handle them appropriately.

Who we share information with

The relevant preschool team handles your enquiry or application. Foundry Lane uses Nursery in a Box for its online visit, enquiry, registration and job application forms. Our website host and email provider may process information to deliver the website and messages. We do not pass an enquiry to another preschool unless we ask you first. We may share information where the law requires it or to protect a child.

How long we keep it

If an enquiry or registration does not lead to a place, we delete it 12 months after the last meaningful contact, unless a specific legal reason requires longer. If a child takes up a place, their childcare record follows the preschool's parent record retention rules. We delete unsuccessful job applications six months after the recruitment decision, unless a specific legal reason requires longer.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete information about you, and you may be able to object to or restrict some uses. Some rights depend on our reason for using the information and any legal duties we have. Contact us or telephone 07441 919888. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
